Smart home products have quietly been maturing in the last few years, with the emergence of a couple of important underlying standardization technologies, called Matter and Thread. Products built on these new standards are more interoperable with one another. Perhaps more importantly from a customer standpoint, products built on Matter and Thread can more easily be used from within any of the following popular smart home apps:

• Google Home

• Amazon Echo

• Samsung SmartThings

Many older smart home products already work with one or more of these ecosystems, but not all of them. I can help you choose new products that maximize compatibility with your existing fleet of products, decide if and when to upgrade older products, and get everything working for you as seamlessly as possible using the fewest number of platform apps. 

If you are using Apple Home to control some products, but are frustrated that your other products are not compatible, I can configure and install a Homebridge device that will make it possible to control everything directly from within Apple Home.
